The Tue/Thurs Preschool class went to Trails & Rail Museum today! They had lots of fun seeing a late 1800's school house, hotel and the Family History Center. They asked lots of good questions! We are excited for the Mon/Wed/Fri class to go tomorrow!

Zion families - yesterday a big packet went home with all the details about our upcoming Lutheran Schools' Week celebrations, the Plant Sale, the Book Fair, and much much more! Details can also be found in the section on news and in the documents section of the app/website!
The 3rd, 4th and 5th graders wrote encouraging letters sharing the Gospel with students, faculty and staff on UNK's campus that are signed up through Holy Cross Campus Ministry. These letters were included in care packages sent out in time for Lent.
Pictured are 3rd graders assembling the care packages with Megan Barone, where envelopes were filled with those letters, 120+ student-made scriptural bookmarks, Band-aids, a snack, pocket crosses, etc.

Due to the forecast winter storm coming in tonight, school has been cancelled for Wednesday, January 18.
Parents, today an important packet is going home. Please check with your child to find the newsletter, auction info, and parent-teacher conference sign-ups. The newsletter has also been posted on the app.
Zion is hosting the Girls Roundball Tournament this January 21/22. We are looking for volunteers to run the scoreboard, help with admissions, and help in the concession stand. A sign-up sheet is posted outside the school office. You can sign-up there or just give the office a call if there is an area that you'd like to serve! Thank you for your support!
Reminder: Students need to be in their classrooms by 3:40 tomorrow. Families are asked to bring cookies/bars for a reception following the program in the gym.
Parents - students picked up in the south parking lot will be dismissed singly to vehicles that pull up to the door. Please join the vehicle line. Students dismissed thru the north parking lot will be walked to their vehicles by the teachers. Parking lots are very icy - be very careful!
Parents: due to icy conditions, consider dropping off at the door instead of walking thru the parking lot. Be safe! If you don't feel safe, don't come in!
Due to the forecast for icy roads Thursday morning (12/8) and a significant number of commuters from out of town, Zion will have a 2 hour late start. Half-day early childhood classes are cancelled. Please plan accordingly and drive safely!
